Horspath Cricket Club
A thriving friendly club playing in Horspath Village at the Recreation Ground which is situated to the right of the Village Hall as you enter the car park. Horspath CC has four men's teams in the Cherwell League, and five youth teams, playing every Saturday, most Sundays (also in friendly matches) and on some weekday evenings in the summer. The season runs from May to September. Playing and social members are welcomed. Horspath is very proud of its cricketing traditions and the cricket club has one of the largest social memberships in Oxfordshire. HCC has four teams playing in the MP Sports Cherwell League and youth teams ranging from Under 17 to Under 9. As well as Cricket, HCC has Social and fundraising events including Themed Evenings, Golf Days, Race Nights, End of Season Dinner. For details, visit the Horspath Cricket Club website. NEW!! 2013 was the Cricket Club's best ever season -

  • The 1st X1 won Division 1 of the Cherwell League, and remains unbeaten in the Cherwell League since the second game of 2009, and will play in the Home Counties Division 2 in 2014
  • The 2nd X1 were runners up in Division 3 securing promotion to Division 2 for 2014, the highest level ever attained by the 2nd Team
  • The 3rd X1 retained their position in Division 6
  • The 4th X1 won Division 9 and will play in Division 8 in 2014

The season ended on a high note with -

  • The 1st X1 winning the prestigious Oxfordshire Cup for the first time in its history
  • The U-17 Youth side winning their County Competition and receiving the Honey Bee Trophy

Horspath Cycle Speedway
An excellently maintained track near the Village Hall. The general public are welcome to attend meetings during the season which is March to October. The "Horspath Hammers" race in the British Premier League. Visit the Horspath Hammers website.



Horspath Village Sports Association (HVSA)
The HVSA is based at the Village Hall, and includes a licensed bar.

The HVSA's income comes from the licensed bar plus subscriptions from the Adult members of the Cricket Club, who are currently the only members of the HVSA.
Grants from the HVSA are made to ensure the development of the sporting facilities at the Village Hall and Recreation Ground.

Boys' and Youths' Football
For 6-16 year olds - 10 teams playing in Oxford Boys' League, on Oxford Marathons' pitches at Oxford Road, Horspath. Games are played in the Oxford Mail Boys League. A practice pitch with lighting is used near the Village Hall. Men's Football
